Support Engineer - Media Asset Management
Vizrt is seeking a Support Engineer to join our team in our North Sydney office location.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Support Engineer with a successful track record in providing technical and operational support for media asset management or equivalent products within the broadcast industry. Successful candidates are curious, excellent problem-solvers, self-motivated, collaborative and structured in the work environment.

What You’ll Do:
Primary support contact for media asset management customers.
Daily liaison with our support branches in New York, United States of America and Sweden and other parts of our support organization.
Troubleshoot and solve complex customer issues related to MAM product line.
Provide patches and updates when required to customer base.
Escalate issues with R&D and local support teams.
Install, configure, troubleshoot as well as support systems in an efficient and professional manner.
Plan and estimate the time needed to complete tasks, according to your own skill level and experience.
Perform on site and remote support of Vizrt systems for Media Asset Management software.
On occasion, perform upgrades/ migrations during non-office hours.
Ensure high customer satisfaction.
Log and manage support tickets, analyse and triage problems and concerns.
Deep analysis to discover root cause of non-trivial customer cases.
What You Bring:
Technical degree in computer science or equivalent.
Relevant experience as a professional system administration.
Self-motivated and responsive to customer requirements.
Installation and maintenance of Unix systems and storage systems, primarily Linux.
Scripting experience in Unix environment, preferably Perl and/or Python.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Familiarity with network protocols and libraries on Linux, network troubleshooting, storage, switch and router configuration.
Programming experience with Python, Perl, Java or comparable languages.
Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, or DB2 preferably) and SQL.
Understanding of XML, JSON, YAML and similar data serialization formats and relevant manipulation tools.
Experience with using RESTful web services APIs.
Passion for video, streaming and mobile applications / technologies.
Skilled in CRM and issue management systems e.g. JIRA, Salesforce.
Eligibility to work and reside in Australia (permanent residency or Australian citizenship).
Experience working in broadcast environments.
Experience in Vizrt products like: Viz One, Viz Mosart, Viz Pilot and other Vizrt products.
2+ years engineering experience in the digital media industry.
Eager to help and solve customer issues; a customer friendly disposition.
Comfortable in technically complex environments.
Experience with cloud technologies / migrations to the cloud is a strong plus, as are any relevant certifications (primarily AWS).
